In November 1951 Rover sent a 1952 model "75" chassis to Pinin Farina in Turin as the base of a drophead and it appeared at the 1953 Motor Show attracting much attention. In 1954 a "90" chassis was sent to Farina to produce a fixed head coupe of similar styling. Also in 1954 a "90" chassis was given to Mulliner to produce a copy of the Farina drophead with an eye to limited batch production.

Unfortunately Rover decided not to go ahead with further production of these beautiful cars.

Both of the convertibles survive having lead a chequered life but now safely in the hands of Guild members. The fate of the fixed head coupe is not clear but it is thought not to have survived
